Pope stumbles in church for second time in three days

Pope Francis had to be helped up the steps to an altar at a Rome basilica on Monday after stumbling in public for the second time in three days.

Two church officials flanked the 78-year-old pontiff and took him by the arm as he faltered on his way up the steps during a service in the Basilica of St John Lateran.

On Saturday, the pope tripped on the steps of St Peter's Basilica, stopping his fall with his outstretched hands, before two aides helped him back to his feet.

In October, the Vatican dismissed an Italian newspaper report that the pope was suffering from a benign brain tumour, saying the pontiff was in good health.

Police arrest two al Shabaab terror suspects in Lamu

Police are holding two al Shabaab terror suspects arrested on Saturday in Lamu East.
A team of police officers conducted a swoop and managed to arrest Muhamed Athuman Mujaid and his brother Anuar Omari Imam. Lamu East police boss Kioi Nyagah said officers acting on intelligence reports raided the village and managed to arrest the two who are described as dangerous.

I did not fix Ruto at ICC, Raila tells Kalenjins

Cord leader Raila Odinga has told the Kalenjin community he did not play any role in the Deputy President William Ruto's ICC case. He said when the case came up, Ruto was a key leader in ODM and he could not fix one of his own at the International Criminal Court.

Raila was speaking at a funds drive for the Kitoben African Gospel church at Chesinede Primary School in Kipkelion East, Kericho county on Sunday. KAKAMEGA Senator Bonny Khalwale has denied jumping over the fence at a funeral in Malava subcounty on Sunday last week. It was reported he jumped over the fence and was confronted by Malava elders at the burial of retired senior chief Isaac Luvonga at Matsakha village. The elders said the senator’s move was disrespectful to the chief. But Khalwale said there was actually no fence for him to jump over.
